Humira – The $6,000 Monthly Cost To Live Pain Free
June 29, 2021As we move deeper into the thick of summer, it is important to find ways to keep yourself cool during the heat, especially if your place of living does not have air conditioning. So, what do you do? Well, there are different ways to keep yourself and your house cool, and a combination of these things can really help.
- Avoid using the oven and stove if possible. This will drastically help keep your house and especially kitchen and down stairs area cool.
- Close the blinds and curtains during the day, if you don’t have curtains, you can use thumb tacks to hang a dark sheet over the window. Blocking out sun from entering your rooms will really help with your ability to keep rooms and the rest of your house cool.
- Drink lots of ice water. This will help cool down the core of your body, and in turn, will lower your overall body temperature.
- Close doors to rooms that have the sun facing windows in that room. This will help prevent heat spreading to the rest of your house and can keep different areas in your house fairly cool.
- Get a bowl of ice water, soak a wash cloth or hand towel in the water, and wring all the water out, then place on your neck, head, or feet. The two areas that hold the most heat in your body is your feet and your head/neck. By applying cool items to these areas, you will notice that your body temperature will go down. This trick can also be done with frozen fruit or vegetables in the same areas. When you are sleeping, you can do the same trick and wet towels on your torso to keep yourself cool while you sleep.
- AVOID TAKING DOGS/PETS ON WALKS. The asphalt temperature is roughly 15 – 20 degrees hotter than the air. You can burn your animals paws which can be a very painful situation for the animal, but also could cost a hefty veterinarian bill depending on the severity of the burnt paws.
These are just a few ideas that will greatly help you stay cool during the hot months. It’s important to remember to try to keep your feet and neck/head cool, and being mindful of your animals on this hot day. Make sure to stay hydrated in the heat, as well.
