How To Stay Cool During The Hot Days
June 28, 2021COVID-19 has had a devastating impact across the world, and in America, it has taken more than 600,000 lives. Getting the vaccine is important, but it does come with side-effects, and these look different for each person. The World Health Organization states the most common side effects include: fatigue, a fever, headaches, body aches, chills, nausea, diarrhea, and pain at the site of injection. Each person is going to react different to the vaccine, and some people see no side effects at all. The severity of the side effects also vary from person to person.
So how what do you do if you’re experiencing side effects? There is over the counter remedies that can minimize the side effects. Individuals can take ibuprofen (Advil), acetaminophen or paracetamol (Tylenol), or aspirin.
There is also at home treatments that can be done to alleviate you from the side effects. According to Medical News Today, you can take a cool wet washcloth and compress the injection site with it. This is ideal for helping with swelling, and injection site pain. Don’t forget to keep your arm moving to minimize stiffness and soreness that will build up for a few days. Staying hydrated will help with your fever. Side effects usually only last a few days, typically 2-4 days. If symptoms stick around longer and symptoms become more severe, call your doctor and take a COVID test.
